.AWANA is an international, Bible-centered children's and youth ministry for students in preschool through high school. Our goal is to reach children and teenagers, and their families, with the Gospel Of Christ and train them to serve Him. The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV).  Harbor Baptist Church's AWANA Club was chartered on May 6, 1991.  Our club commander is Bela Sebestyen and our AWANA missionaries are Jim & Tammie Rizer (serving Eastern Virginia and Eastern North Carolina). Currently, we have clubbers participating in Cubbies, Sparks, Truth & Training, Junior Varsity and 24/7 (Varsity).  Club meetings are held on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
